It’s a Perennial Smorgasbord

I attended two trade events in Oregon last month; Farwest and Monrovia Nursery’s 100th Anniversary Celebration. While visiting Monrovia, I had the opportunity to see a plethora of woody ornamentals and perennials in their beautiful event displays and Breeder’s Showcase trial display beds.

How much is a plethora? I don't know, as there were too many for me to count. I can best describe it as a perennial smorgasbord for the eyes. I took hundreds of pictures and thought how cool would it be to share many of the perennials from the Breeder’s Showcase that stood out to me.

The sections that follow contain only a small portion of the perennials that left an impression on me. As you’ll see, there were lots of great perennials on display—some new or recent introductions, as well as a few that have been on the market a while. Regardless, they caught my eye.
