BALL HORTICULTURAL COMPANY

Colin Curwen-McAdams has joined Ball as a Senior Plant Breeder. Colin will serve in a dual role, working 50% of his time with Ball FloraPlant on breeding projects and 50% of his time in a corporate trialing function. In that capacity, he’ll help to gather and compile information company-wide on trialing locations (both internal and external to Ball), timing, capabilities, space availability and other needs.   

Colin received his Ph.D. in Crop Science from Washington State University where he studied wheat genetics and breeding, and has a wide range of varied and beneficial experience that he brings with him. Colin has also run his own plant breeding consulting business working to advise and design breeding and trialing programs for companies that specialize in hops, potatoes, Triticum, cucurbits, beans and brassicas.

 

BALL SEED

Glenn Wilson is retiring after 33 years of service to Ball Seed and its customers in the Southwest and Southeast Regions.  

Glenn started his career at Ball Seed as part of the sales team in Texas. He was promoted to Regional Sales Manager for the Southeast in 1996 and continued as a Sales Representative in Texas. He took on the leadership of the Southeast and Southwest in 2000, transitioning his territory to George Freas, and recruited and trained all of the current team members of the Southwest Sales Region.

Sales leadership of the Southwest region has transitioned to Candace Wilcox. Candace comes to the Regional Business Manager position with a strong background in horticultural sales. Prior to joining Ball, she was the Vice President of Sales for Seville Farms, building a strong sales and merchandising team over her 22 years there.

Martin Jones has accepted the position as Ball Seed Regional Business Manager for the Southeast Region. He will also lead the Retail Business Manager Team. Martin most recently served as the Director of Sales for Baucom’s Nursery in Charlotte, North Carolina. Prior to that, Martin was the Director of Retail and Landscape Channels and the Retail Business Manager for The Home Depot for Ball Horticultural Company. Martin spent 14 years with Ball serving many North American retailers and growers.  

 

IMPELLO BIOSCIENCES

Impello Biosciences announced that Steven Hartmeier has joined its team as Chief Operating Officer. In his new role, Steven will be responsible for working with all key Impello management as the company continues to expand its product offerings into new markets. Steven has decades of experience introducing and commercializing products in the biologicals field, with past tenures including President, CEO and Director at mOasis, as well as Vestaron Corporation and President of Suterra LLC.
