Learn Costing and Profitability Online!

Chris Beytes

The University of Florida IFAS Extension Greenhouse Training online courses program has added Costing and Profitability to its curriculum. The high-level, four-week course starts August 2.

It’s a course you do NOT want to miss when you look at the lineup of guest instructors: Economist Dr. Charles Hall, Ellison Chair in International Floriculture from Texas A&M University; Bill Swanekamp from KubePak (Bill wrote the chapter on “The Greenhouse Office” for the latest RedBook); and Drs. Paul Fisher and Kevin Athearn from UF.

Topics covered include crop enterprise budgets, income statements, allocation of overhead, seasonality, space use, shrinkage, labor cost, pricing and more. This course is advanced level and designed for experienced, well-trained growers or people with upper university education. The course is offered in English and Spanish.
