BAILEY

Bailey announced that Jimmy Kuon has been promoted to Regional Sales Manager, overseeing sales representatives covering the eastern part of the United States and Canada. Jimmy has worked in sales on the East Coast at Bailey for nearly 20 years, making him well-poised to move into this new role. In addition to his tenure at Bailey, Jimmy has management experience in both wholesale and retail companies.


DRAMM

Dramm announced that Peter Haakman has joined the company as an irrigation and sales specialist operating out of its Canadian Office. Peter’s responsibilities will center on system design where he’ll work with growers to optimize their irrigation, air movement and water management systems.

Peter has more than 35 years of greenhouse experience, starting as a grower in his own operation and in distribution sales. As an owner of Haakman Greenhouses, Peter managed day-to-day operations, production and facility maintenance for a 6.5-acre seedless cucumber greenhouse in Fenwick, Ontario. After the sale of his business, Peter worked in greenhouse distribution sales in the Niagara Peninsula, working with customers to fulfill their supply needs for the past 10 years.

 

EASON HORTICULTURAL RESOURCES  

Eason Horticultural Resources (EHR) announced that Jim Monroe was hired as an independent sales specialist covering selected grower and retail accounts in various parts of the U.S. Jim will work in conjunction with EHR sales reps and their customers, as well as building new business. Jim has extensive knowledge in developing supply chains for offshore cuttings and plug-and-liner programs that can benefit growers of all sizes. Jim will continue in his roles of promoting and developing the Hort Couture brand and expanding the IGC TALK! forum.

 

FLORIDA NURSERY, GROWERS & LANDSCAPE ASSOCIATION

The Florida Nursery, Growers & Landscape Association (FNGLA) hired Gary Weitermann as the FNGLA Certification Manager. Gary will be working closely with Merry Mott, FNGLA’s Director of Certifications and Career Development. With five professional certifications and preparing to unveil a sixth, FNGLA will now be in an even stronger position to develop internships and apprenticeships to attract workers to nursery and landscape industry careers.

Gary was the chairperson of FNGLA’s Certification Committee, as well as the creator of FNGLA’s Certification Plant ID Showcase at The Landscape Show and TPIE. Gary was the recipient of FNGLA’s 2019 Outstanding Volunteer of the Year Award during FNGLA’s convention several weeks ago. Gary comes to FNGLA from SeaWorld Horticulture, where he was an assistant supervisor for the past 11 years. Gary also secured SeaWorld as a Central Florida test site for FNGLA’s certification exams.
