In Memoriam: John L. Tomasovic, Sr.

John L. Tomasovic, Sr., patriarch of the family and owner of Tomasovic Greenhouses & Nursery, Inc. in Des Peres, Missouri, passed away January 11. He was 83 years old.

John graduated from the University of Missouri in Columbia in 1956 with a degree in Agriculture. Some of John’s many accomplishments include: President of the Missouri State Florist Association, the Allied Florist of Greater St. Louis, the Bedding Plant Foundation and the St. Louis Flower Growers Association; Past Council Member of the Growers Association of Society of American Florists; Member of the American Academy of Florists, The Society of American Florists and Bedding Plants, Inc.; Scholarship in his name at American Floral Endowment; and a shareholder of the Green Bay Packers.

John is survived by his wife of 62 years of Priscilla (Pep) Tomasovic; son John L Tomasovic, Jr. (Beth) and daughter Susan Tomasovic McClellan; grandchildren Elizabeth Gaydos (Paul), Priscilla Calvird (Kevin), John L. Tomasovic, III, Christopher Calvird (Leeann), and the late Krista McClellan, and three great grandchildren. GT
