Aris Buys Silverleaf’s Herb Business

Chris Beytes

Aris Green Leaf Plants will be expanding its herb offerings with the addition of more than 200 varieties from Silverleaf Greenhouses Inc. of Wallkill, New York, says Scott Schaefer, president and CEO of Aris Horticulture. (It seems Silverleaf is going to be producing just one herb, cannabis—they’ve sold their facilities to a recreational cannabis grower.)

To ensure continuity and better serve customers, the agreement also provides for Larry Silverman to provide transition consulting. Says Larry, “I am looking forward to working with the Aris Green Leaf team to provide transitional assistance and future support for the continued supply of high-quality herbs to my customers.”

Silverleaf’s product line includes split 102s (51 cell), 2.5 in. and custom 4 in.; these will be added to the Green Leaf Product offering over the next two weeks. Green Leaf’s herb program remains unchanged. A couple of Silverleaf products, most notably scented geraniums, will be suspended for 2023 because they won’t have the stock plants ready, but Green Leaf’s Managing Director Blair Hoey said that they hope to have some limited citronella availability for 2023.
