The Biggest Belgian Mum in North America?

Chris Beytes
Article ImageThat’s the claim made by Tyler Gogolek of Tyler’s Farm in Oberlin, Ohio, and it earned him the top prize in a contest sponsored by GroLink.

Tyler’s Biggest Mum, grown from just three cuttings, was 37 in. wide and 27 in tall, measured from the soil level. It was three colors of Padre: White, Pink and Yellow. Tyler planted it June 12. The rooted cuttings, part of a GroLink Small Growers Package, were spaced 3 in. apart. He fed with Jack’s 20-20-20. He also uses GroLink’s mum netting to help the plants hold up during transport.

GroLink plans another Biggest Mum contest next season. GT
