In Memoriam: McHutchison’s Paul Haffey

Sad news: Paul Haffey, the former president of McHutchison, passed away October 22. He was 92.

Paul joined McHutchison way back in 1948 as a territory sales rep in Indiana, Ohio and Michigan after graduating from The Ohio State University where he received his BS in horticulture, studying with the renowned Dr. Alex Laurie. He moved to McHutchison’s corporate offices in New Jersey in 1960 as a vice president, and took over as president in 1972. He retired in 1990, handing over the reins to Steve Huber, the current CEO and Chairman.

His legacy will live on in the scholarship he endowed at Ohio State for deserving horticulture students. GT
