Congrats to Rose Breeder John Dolan

Rose specialist John Dolan earned the Society of American Florists’ 2011 Gold Medal Award, presented at SAF’s recent annual convention. The SAF Gold Medal honors the originator and introducer of a widely distributed plant or flower that has become an outstanding product of significant horticultural and commercial value. In John’s case, that means more than 28 cut rose varieties, including Classy (No. 1 red in South America) and Forever Young (No. 1 red sweetheart), both of which have sold more than 30 million plants.
