One of the green industry’s oldest wholesale growers, Fairview Evergreen Nurseries, Inc. in Fairview, Pennsylvania, is celebrating 100 years of business in 2011. The fourth-generation family nursery will mark its centennial throughout 2011 with a commemorative catalog, a special series of advertisements, and a summer celebration event honoring its employees, customers and business partners. Founded in 1911 by Frank C. Hetz, Fairview Evergreen is widely regarded as the green industry’s leading grower of taxus (yews), but the company offers an extensive line of evergreens, deciduous shrubs and shade trees to its customers, which include a wide network of re-wholesale distributors, landscapers and garden centers.


Also celebrating an anniversary this year is Dosatron, which has provided the industry with water-powered chemical dosing technology for 25 years. Located in Clearwater, Florida, the company was started in 1974, when the first Dosatron was manufactured. Over the last 25 years, there have been innovative changes, such as simplified motors, materials that are more chemical resistant, and diaphragm technology. Today, Dosatron manufactures and sells a wide variety of chemical injectors in more than 20 countries worldwide.
