Ball Creates Single and Multi-Species Seed Pellets
Jennifer Zurko

PanAmerican Seed, Ball Horticultural Company’s seed breeding division, is coming out with a line of single and multi-species multi-pelleted seed that they say delivers a “natural-looking” mix of plants that grow well together for instant mixed containers.
Called “Fuseables”, the seed has been trialed and tested in the lab and greenhouse to ensure easier sowing and growing and, according to the company, is the first-ever professional-quality program of its kind. Growers and retailers saw it for the first time at the California Spring Trials in April.
“Every plug tray will contain a well-balanced variety mix across the tray, yet each plug will be unique,” says Laurence Pallez, product manager for PanAmerican Seed.
Fuseables is available in Twisted Dart juncus and Twisted Arrows juncus, as well as nine single and multi-species flower combinations of lobelia, petunia and bacopa, with names combo names such as Ol’ Blue Eyes, Silk’N Satin and Bed ‘O Roses.
