Due to the pandemic, the FNGLA Annual Convention will be postponed until June 11-12, 2021.
The original dates already shifted from June 5-6 to August 14-15, 2020 and it was understood attending this year’s FNGLA convention was not going to be feasible for everyone. Nonetheless, FNGLA said the hotel room block was just shy of being full.
FNGLA’s CEO Ben Bolusky said in his newsletter, “Closely following the protocols and guidance from health officials and government authorities, FNGLA was working with the Embassy Suites Hotel team in St. Augustine Beach to design and deliver a safe and responsible event. However, we became increasingly concerned over the recent spike in Florida’s COVID-19 cases. And we knew a level of unease would get in the way of the FNGLA convention’s time-honored traditions of camaraderie, fun and lasting memories.” He thanked members for being patient while they were making the decision whether to postpone the event.
